CHALLENGE
The recent introduction of daridorexant into Italian clinical practice was accompanied by limited real-world evidence and several open questions around patient selection, therapeutic management and treatment response assessment.
APPROACH
A structured programme involving 13 Italian sleep medicine specialists, combining an Advisory Board and Nominal Group Technique (NGT) to gather, discuss and prioritise clinical experience across five key questions on the use of daridorexant.
OUTPUT
55 statements ranked by relevance through structured voting, a scientific consensus report and a manuscript developed for peer-reviewed publication.
OUTCOME
A shared framework on the use of daridorexant in clinical practice was established, covering patient selection and management, switching strategies, treatment optimisation and response assessment.
